Hello:)
Well to all that are excited for a nice long email about my exciting week (probably
very few actually) you are going to be a little disappointed because I only
have a simple story to say and that’s about it. :) Sometimes it’s better to be short
and simple right?! So anyway, right as we were starting to feel like work is
slowing down and we’re not finding any real progressing investigators, we were
walking down a nice long steep road we came to a lady standing there and then
she approached us and asked us if we speak Bicol. So of course we answered NO.
But it’s a good thing she speaks Tagalog, ha-ha! She asked us what religion we
are exactly and we told her that were the missionaries from The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she was like... uh... so then as part of our “introducing
ourselves” speech we said, also called Mormons.
Then she was like Ohhhh! Ya Mormons! :) She was a very cheerful and
happy woman, so we weren't too worried. She told us she was a Muslim and that
the women of that religion aren’t supposed to approach men, but she told us
that she had to take the courage to approach us and then she told us she feels
that her religion isn’t enough for her and her family. She told us that we
could hopefully teach her 8-year-old twins so that they can grow up in a strong
church. She was very happy she found us and told us every time she sees us
walking she’s too shy to call us and asked us why we never knocked on her door,
so we felt pretty guilty for that but she didn’t mind, she was just happy that
we happened to pass paths. All in all, it was a good motivation booster and
were going to try to get back to teach them soon. :) Buuut that’s it for me
this week. Big sorry to mommy for my less then eventful email. I’m going to go
get a haircut and maybe wash some cloths. :) Oh ma thank you for the whitening
powder things. It’s like I’m a brand new elder ha-ha! Well love ya all. :) Read,
pray, and magsisi always.
